Cities in Scotland
This page lists all of Scotland's six cities. Note that this is the official number of cities in Scotland (according to the queen). These are settlements with an official city charter.
Unofficially however it is common for large towns to be referred to as cities, as most people define cities as large towns.
The following websites provide more local information and about Scotland's cities. Most notably, Edinburgh is Scotland's capital and its second largest city. It is also a major European centre for finance and commerce. Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, its metropolitan area home to over 1 million people and 40% of Scotland's entire population.
