Wells is situated in Somerset, which is the same county as the famed Stone Henge and Glastonbury festival. It is therefore a popular tourist site due to its proximity to these attractions and its rich architectural history. Wells cathedral is considered the most pleasing to the eye in the country and dates back as far as the 10th century. Wells is England’s smallest city with a mere population of only 10,000. It is also only one of two cities in Somerset, the other being Bath. There is a street in Wells that is reputedly the oldest continually inhabited street in Europe. Wells derives its name from the three wells found at Bishops palace.
