Truro is a city in the county of Cornwall and has a population of 19,000. It houses the famous Truro Cathedral which was built in 1910 and the Royal Cornwall Museum. Truro is also a twinned town, partnering with Morlaix (Brittany, Northern France). Its history dates back to the 12th century and has a castle which was built by Richard Lucy, who was the Chief Justice of England during Henry II’s reign and was built at the top of what has later been named Castle Street. The rivers were an important part of its industry, which saw an iron foundry, tin smelting, a tannery, pottery and carpet and wool making.
